Malawi for deep diplomatic relations with Mozambique

The president of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera has vowed to deepen 50-year old of diplomatic relations with the leader of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo at Kamuzu palace, Lilongwe, where the officials of the two government have signed the three bilateral agreements in the field of information, communication, technology, transport and trade.

Chakwera have told Chapo that he will work with him in taking the interconnector forward as the two countries are not just linked by geography but also by culture and power interconnection lines. The president has further appreciated the progress which is continuing under Chapo’s tenure.

The president of Mozambique, Chapo have expressed his gratitude to Chakwera through his visit to Malawi as an opportunity to strengthen the historical relations of brotherhood, friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries. Chapo has also urged the members of the business community in Malawi to start investing in Mozambique.

Report on Chilima's memorial service at Ntcheu

CHILIMA'S LIFE IN MEMORIAL A memorial service for the late Saulos Chilima, who was the vice president of Malawi has taken place today through mass prayers organized by his family, led by Bishop Peter Adrian Chifukwa of Dedza Diocese at Nsipe, ntcheu. The family spokesperson, Tiwonge Phiri said the service was organized to commemorate the life and good deeds of Saulos Chilima, rather than just to mourn. She added that Chilima was like a teacher who encouraged people to do good things in the country, his family and among his relatives. Speaking at the service, chief Makwangwala, who stood on behalf of the parmount chief Gomani V, said Chilima was a person who loved his community and actively participated in developing and advising local chiefs of ngoni clan. POLICE TO PROVIDE SECURITY SUPPORT: ZOMBA      Police ready to secure residents of Zomba Senior Chief Mlumbe in Zomba has commended the police in the district for officially revamping 997 emergency services.  Mlumbe at the Bluegum Avenue, has said the resurfacing of the services would strengthen security within the district, as the Zomba police station through its community policing office has unveiled the rapid response motor vehicle. “The unveiling of the rapid response motor vehicle, 997, will put the hearts of the people in Zomba at peace now unlike before.
